The Power of Judah
Judah -the pivotal point in your Life
The first time Judah is mentioned in Scripture is Genesis 29:35. Leah the unloved wife of Jacob had hoped that she would have gained her husband’s affection because she had borne him three sons thus far, but it was to no avail, rather he was deeply in love with her sister, Rachael. At the birth of her fourth son, it was as though Leah came to her senses, for she named him Judah or Praise of Jehovah, or celebration. “And she conceived again and bore a son, and said, “Now I will praise the LORD.” Therefore she called his name Judah. Then she stopped bearing. When she said those words, she had decided not to be a victim of unrequited love anymore, but to put her focus on a new source of affection, Jehovah. In desperation she turned from an existence of pain and rejection to purposeful praise to the Lord God.
The moment Leah chose to worship, the moment she chose to ‘Judah,’ that became the pivotal point her life. When we start to praising God in the face of rejection and being overlooked it will mark a turning point in our lives.
