Stay Positive and Silence the naysayers –

“Now the sons of the prophets who were at Jericho came to Elisha and said to him, “Do you know that the LORD will take away your master from over you today?” So he answered, “Yes, I know; keep silent!” –2kings 2:5

Elisha was focused and single-minded but you can bet your life there are going to be those who would try to dissuade you, to put you off. They will say to you “Do you now that the Lord will take away your master from over you today” and your answer has to be “I know, but you need to shut up” – basically it’s none of your business.  And this is something you will have to say over and over to the naysayers, Elisha had to so it, at least twice (2 Kings 2: 3; 5). The cynics have a way of following you with their forecast of gloom and doom. Silence them! Address the negative self-talk and bring it into submission to the obedience of Christ.  Keep positive, stay clear of those who would want you to miss your season, telling you it is not going to work.

Of course you know there comes a time for your mentor to ‘leave’ but there are some with malicious intent whose one purpose is to try to discourage you in the process. Tell them that you understand exactly what this is about but they need to shut up! They aren’t going anywhere but you are!
