Loving your child unconditionally

Loving your child unconditionally

“I have loved you with an everlasting love.” Jeremiah 31:3

A Child that is loved and knows it is more likely to be a confident and secure child. Be certain, however, your children will test the limits of your love for them, either intentionally or unintentionally. Unconditional love is the type of love they will need, this love nurtures them and allows them to grow and flourish. Unconditional love loves them when they seem unlovable and have acted in unloving ways. It is a love that loves when they have disappointed or hurt you and maybe even shamed the family name. It is a love that says, “I love you because of who you are and not because of what you can do for me”.

1 Corinthians 13 describe this love that “bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things”. This is the God-kind of love and comes only from Him. It is a love that must be expressed in words, actions and attitudes in order that it may develop. Give it freely and demonstrate it regularly, they cannot have too much of it.
