Judah promises victory
- Spiritual warfare is an inevitable part of the Christian experience. Our enemy, the devil, seeks to steal, kill and destroy those who belong to Christ, in whatever way possible. He attempts to destroy his faith, hope, relationships, and body… he seeks to hinder him from fulfilling the purposes of God. But God has ordained praising as one of our powerful weapons of warfare. “You have ordained praise because of Your enemies, that You may silence the enemy and the avenger” (Ps. 8:2). The high praises of God in our mouths is to execute vengeance on the nation…to bind their kings with chains and their nobles with fetters of iron…(Ps. 150 5-9).
Judges 1:1-2″Now after the death of Joshua it came to pass that the children of Israel asked the LORD, saying, “Who shall be first to go up for us against the Canaanites to fight against them? And the LORD said, “Judah shall go up. Indeed I have delivered the land into his hand.” God told the people when they inquired of Him, that Judah was to lead their military campaigns but the battle was already won. When the Lord gives us the strategy of praise and worship to face the enemy, know for sure victory has been assured. Similarly when the singers and dancers went up before the army of Jehoshaphat praising God, it brought them the victory over the people of Ammon and Moab (2Chron 20). That is the power of praise that we need to employ every day in our walk with God as the enemy comes against us.
