Walking on Water Teaching and Equipping Centre (WOWTEC)
WOWTEC was established July 5th 2009. Rev. Linda Jones and Minister Oliver Jones both give sound leadership to this ministry. Pastor Linda has a passion to see people delivered from spiritual and emotional bondages and walk in freedom; her personal mission statement is Luke 4:18-19.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor…To heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind to set at liberty those who are oppressed Luke 4:18-19
She is an anointed teacher of the Word and strongly believes in the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry. Pastor Linda has authored several books that are geared to bring healing and empowerment to the family. She also hosts the Radio program Words of Wisdom. Pastor Linda is ably assisted by her husband Minister Oliver Jones who is an experienced, competent and anointed man of God with a compassionate father’s heart. They have one daughter.
WOWTEC is a teaching Ministry – to teach is to impart knowledge; to impart instruction; to instill doctrine into one; to explain or expound a thing. Teaching can be accomplished through audio, visual, kinetic or through all three methods working together.
WOWTEC is an Equipping Ministry – to equip from the Greek katartismos which means to complete thoroughly; to repair or to adjust. It carries the meaning of putting in order, setting things right, restoring to its proper place, making straight, setting a bone… In the classical Greek, the compound word katartismos had three meanings and uses:
- That of setting in order a city which had been torn apart by factions and schisms.
- To thoroughly prepare someone or something for any given task or purpose. It referred to outfitting a ship for sailing. The Church is like a ship, and the governmental ministries are responsible to outfit and equip her for her mission.
- The preparing an army for battle.
It is obvious from the Scripture (Eph 4:11-12) that the work of perfecting or equipping the saints is not just for one or two of the members of the governmental ministry but for all members of the five-fold ministry: Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher. Therefore WOWTEC would seek to involve and utilize all the governmental gifts and the body ministry to this end.
WOWTEC is not to function as a traditional Church but to implement and utilize all methods to accomplish its mandate. Teachings would not only be traditional doctrinal teaching but teachings that would equip individuals for living a victorious impactful Christian life.
Women of Worth (WOW)
Women of Worth (W.O.W.) is a registered Charity. It was established on August 26th 2005, to impact the lives of women and by extension the family and the nation. Many women struggle with unresolved hurt and pain from past issues and in the process they have lost their sense of self-worth and identity. They have become stuck and are unable to fully move into the purposes of God. W.O.W is a support ministry to facilitate the spiritual and the emotional development in the lives of these women. To help them recognize and accept their worth in Christ, and enable them to reach their fullest potential in Him.
Who can find a virtuous woman? For her worth is far above rubies” Pr 31:10.
Women of Worth are Women:-
- Of the Word (Acts 17:11)
- Of Worship (Revelation 4:11)
- Who are Willing Servants (Mark 10:43)
- Of Wisdom (Proverbs 31:26)
- With a Holy Walk (Ephesians 5:1-21)
- Of Works and Wonders (Mark 16:16-18)
- With Winning Attitudes (Galatians 5:22-23)
- Of their Word (James 5:12)
- Who are Whole Women (3John 2)
- Of Wealth (2Corinthians 9: 10-11)
- Of Witness (1 John 1:1-4)
- Of Warfare (Ephesians 6:10-18)
The word finds means “to acquire, to secure, to be in possession of”. Who has what it takes, who could afford this woman, for her worth far exceeds the price of rubies? In ancient Jewish culture when a young man desired to marry a young woman he would prepare a contract or covenant to present to the young woman and her father. The most important part of the contract was the bride price, which was the price he was willing to pay to marry the young woman. This price was generally quite high.
There is only One Person who could and was willing to pay the price, for this “woman” and it is the Lord Jesus Christ. He paid the price, and yes it was supremely high. He said, “This is My Body given for you…” Luke 22:20. You are a woman (and man) of worth. When Christ paid the bride price of His life and shed his blood for you He was establishing once and for all how much you are worth to Him (1 Peter 1:19-20)
